Southeast Industrial Equipment, Inc. is a second-generation, family-owned operation. In 1994, with twenty years’ experience in the material handling equipment business and three years as president of SIE under his belt, CEO Steve Thorne purchased the company from JM Family Enterprises, Inc. In 2006, after several successful years of growth, Steve turned the company over to his son and daughter Cory Thorne and BJ Matthews, President and Vice President respectively. Under Cory’s leadership, SIE has continued to evolve as the premier supplier of quality equipment and products and superior services in the material handling industry. With an experienced management team and strong regional leadership firmly in place at each dealership, Southeast Industrial Equipment is perfectly positioned to satisfy the forklift, heavy equipment, material handling, and warehouse needs of customers both now and well into the future
We value honesty, work ethic, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Our Culture
As a family owned business, we believe in treating our associates like family and giving back as much as we can. Our President likes to say "When the company does well, our associates do too." Associates often receive bonuses when the company has a good month of performance.
We call ourselves the "SIE Family" and we like to get together as much as we can. We encourage each of our locations to have group outings or events, and often times they are family friendly. Outings have included bowling, paint ball, go karting, baseball games, football games, Family Days, amusement park trips, races, etc.
We also have a Company Year End Party each December where we bring all 10 of our locations together in Myrtle Beach, SC. We cover the hotel room for associates and their guests for the evening and we have a nice dinner and awards ceremony followed by door prizes, a DJ, and dancing!
Some of the other little things we do include:
Sending a birthday surprise to our associate's children
Sending a baby gift to associates when they have a new addition to their family
Sending a get well gift if an associate is out with a serious illness or injury
